Position Title - Sr Product Design & Development Engineer - plastics

Location - Rlichmond, VA or Kansas City, MO

Description -
Our client is a leading global supplier of Dispensing Systems for Consumer and Healthcare packaging. Products include Aerosol Actuators, Airless Systems, Dispensing Closures, Fine Mist Sprayers, Fragrance Pumps, Trigger Sprayers and more.

Client is seeking an Engineer experienced with plastics product development who can transition into a management role in 2-3 years. Position reports to Senior Manager of Innovation.

Responsibilities include:
• Product development engineering of concepts into parts and assemblies for prototyping, analysis, and tooling design.
• Coordinate development activities through stages 2 (Design) and 3 (Development) as defined by a project leader or product development engineer.
• Provide leadership and communicate with internal and external customers as required in project meetings and discussions.
• Perform engineering analysis on part and assembly designs using FEA, CFD and Moldflow.
• Work with sales and marketing to ideate concepts and provide our customers with technical support on new product solutions.

Requirements -
• Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering or Plastics Technology from a four-year college or university.
• 8 + years related experience and/or training in product development.
• Experience in plastic injection molding part design and product development for high volume consumer products like Cosmetic, H&BA, Beauty Care and Personal Care products
* Experience with fluid products would be a PLUS
* Experience in directly interfacing with external customer organizations for new product or package solutions.
• Experience in CAE applications for FEA (non-linear structural, injection molding, fluid flow) is a plus.
• Hands-on daily use of CAE/CAD (3D solid modeling) and experience with drafting techniques for creation, revision and checking – knowledge of Siemens NX is a plus.
• Use of project management methods and tools.
* Open to relocation to Richmond, VA or Kansas City, MO.

Compensation -
Salary is negotiable, depending upon experience presented, to 150K plus bonus. Excellent benefits. Relocation package available.
